Are Painted Boat spa treatments a reimbursable medical expense?

The Spa at Painted Boat is a wellness and relaxation spa. All our therapists are certified in the profession in which they practice. However, in British Columbia only services provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) are recognized as a reimbursable medical plan expense – medical rebate receipts cannot be issued for services provided by certified therapists.

The Spa at Painted Boat has limited availability for RMT treatments. If you wish to be reimbursed for a treatment through your medical services plan, you must call The Spa directly at 604.883.9112 for availability and pricing. RMT appointments cannot be booked online, and any online requests for an RMT will not be honoured.

Please note that only Registered Massage Therapists are qualified to perform prenatal massage.

What is the cancellation policy?

All services booked are guaranteed with a valid credit card. Spa services are reserved especially for you, so we ask you give us 24 hours advance notice should you need to reschedule or cancel your services. There is a cancellation fee associated, please ask for further details.

What do I wear during my treatment?

Most body treatments are enjoyed without clothing, however your personal preference will be respected. Our professional therapists are trained in draping procedures to ensure your comfort.

What if I have special health considerations?

Please notify our spa reservation associates when booking your treatments if you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, recent surgeries, allergies, or if you are pregnant. Also, please advise us of any medication you’re taking. If you have any concerns, please let us know. It is always advisable to check with your doctor prior to your arrival.

When should I arrive?

For enhanced comfort and relaxation, we suggest that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your scheduled treatment. Esthetics guests are encouraged to use the Spa Garden prior to their service to preserve the benefit of the treatment.

What if I’m late for my appointment?

Arriving late will simply limit the time for your treatment, lessening its effectiveness and your pleasure. Your treatment will end at the scheduled time, so that the next guest will not be delayed. The value of your full treatment will apply.

What about my jewelry and valuables?

If possible, please leave such items at home or in your Villa. Lockers are available for your personal items in the spa facility. We will not be responsible for lost or misplaced valuables.

What about payment for spa services?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, bank debit card, and cash. You may also charge your treatments to your Villa.

For your convenience payment is also accepted prior to your treatment. Gratuities are not included in the price.

Are alcoholic drinks allowed?

Unfortunately no. We have a very strict no alcohol policy as we are not a licensed premises, which is why it is strictly forbidden on site. Management reserves the right to remove guests from The Spa whom appear to be under the influence of alcohol.

Are children allowed?

Children are welcome from ages 16 & up, and must be accompanied by an adult.

Are walk-ins accepted?

We encourage all of our guests to book appointments in advance in order to receive your desired treatment. Walk in appointments are accepted depending on availability. Reservations for our Spa Garden are also encourage so that we may guarantee you access to it.
